I’m an engineer by profession and have worked in the field of oil & gas all my life. From an early age, I am an avid reader of history books and consequently I have always been fascinated by global socio-political events as they unfold. I find and firmly believe that finance, economy and money are generally at the root of all political and social events. This aroused my interest in economy and world of finance and later in stock markets. One may say that all the value creation that we see today has been the result of technological advances within the framework of economy and finance during last couple of centuries.
Stock markets generally are believed to be the pulse of economy. For successful investing in stocks, it is essential to have a good idea of economic principles and financial aspects. An investing methodology based on thorough study of financial analysis, valuation and risks was first developed by Ben Graham in mid 19th century. This process, known as value investing for some time now, was taken forward by Peter Lynch, Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger. The principles of value investing have withstood test of time and are embraced by investors worldwide. It is my intention to bring out and lay before you these principles through this blog as I understood them .
We all keep learning all our life through application and experience and it should be no different in this case.
